LA Tenorio B+
I think he did a good job starting for the team. Although his height is a disadvantage against the taller Jordanians, he was able to maintain the teams offense. I gave a grade of B+ because it is just his first game as a gilas member and yet he performed well. Although the turnovers a concern.
Sol Mercado A
This guy is a surprise. I know he can play the point as he is doing in the PBA, yet he was able to do those quick crossovers against taller defenders, it is like watching Allen Iverson with much strength. On fastbreaks, he reminds me of how Cyrus Baguio outrun his opponents and finish strong. I could have easily given an A+ as he's the one who sparked the team in the 2nd quarter run, but still gave him an A grade because he has not shown his shooting touch from the outside. If he could get that, he'll be a beast on the floor.
Gary David B
David's main purpose in the team is to light out the scoreboard. In this game, he has not really shown his true form. His 3pt shots have not been falling so often but it's still ok since it is also his 1st game as Gilas member. I gave a B grade since I have high expectations from him to really fireup and make those 3s, which did not happen in the game.
Larry Fonacier and Jeff Chan B
Both of them are known shooters in the PBA. They basically have the same style of game which is shooting from the 3 and they do drive to the basket when opportunity arises. I gave them B grade since they were not really in the groove of hitting those long range bombs but credit to them as they hit some crucial baskets. It is either to stop a run or giving more breathing space for the team.
Gabe Norwood B
Gabe is at 6'5'' plays the Small Forward position for the team, but he do play some point guard which is very versatile that's is why he is an important part of the team. I gave B grade since I really don't expect him to score and in the game, he made turnovers which results to turnover points by the opponent. He just needs to handle himself well on the defensive end and the offense is just a bonus.
Matt Ganuela Rosser C+
Matt is a new recruit of Gilas 2. He played US college basketball and is a fil-am born in the Philippines which makes him eligible to play international games for the Philippines. I am not familiar with his game but he shows potential since he has long arms and defensive mentality. A C+ grade would just be enough as he is still a project player.
Ranidel de Ocampo B+
He is a mainstay for the national team having been part of Gilas 1. His outside shot for a power forward guy is his asset as he forces bigman inside to go outside. A B+ grade is given to him is because he shown great leadership on the court, and his defense really showed up. I hope he can continue this form.
Enrico Villanueva and JayR Reyes B
These guys are enforcers of the team, their tough task is to defend the post even if they are undersized. They showed great resilience inside the paint and not afraid of guys literally bigger than them. So I gave them a B because of their effort down low. I hope they can also contribute in the offensive end.
Sonny Thoss B-
A backup center for our naturalized player Douhtit. He is probably the best backup center we could get at the moment, since projected Fajardo is joining the PBA and still raw. A grade of B- is given because he wasn't able to knockdown open jumpers which should be his game.
Marcus Douhtit A+
What can you say about this guy? He is just an all around player. He even didn't play much in the first half yet he top scored for the team.
For the team A-
I gave an A- grade because the fact that they won the game, but the turnovers are still a problem. We may say that they are not really familiar with each other's game, but some turnovers happened because they are bullied defensively.
